Taking Photographs of Men | Fashion Photography
I recently did a fashion photo-shoot where we had some models with different props. Some of them had the theme of Halloween, so they were dressed with costumes and face paints. Here, I’ll show the photos I took of men that day and explain my thought process. If you check on the other posts, you will find more about the photoshoot including photos of women and products.
Starting with the photos of the men that had costumes. I wanted to emphasise the details of the face paint. I used an 85mm lens to focus on close portraits and show clearly the eyes, which is, in my opinion, the most important part of a portrait when including the face. I edited the photos combining Lightroom and Photoshop
For the next photos of the photoshoot, I wanted to focus on having interesting power poses that portray the style of the clothing the models where using. Taking photos of them in a good pose is important, but also, taking photos where I showed the clothing was also a key part. So finding the balance of the both got me to take these fashion style photography using men models.
This type of photography is great for promotions and advertising. Here is an example of how one of these images can be modified for commercial purposes.
