6 Fashion Style Photo-Shoot Project | The Launch of My Career
Destin Sparks once said “Photography is the story I fail to put into words,” and I completely understand his point. As a storyteller, I find it easier to tell stories showing images. With my project 6 fashion style photo-shoots, I wanted to use light to show and create stories.
My personal style combines art movements, analog photography experience and digital techniques to generate images that catch people’s attention. I believe in trying things differently, I believe in not following trends, and I believe in being true to myself.
I chose this project to start diving into fashion and editorial photography, something that I’m interested in but that I haven’t done much in it. I wanted to push my limits and rise my own bar to create something I haven’t done before.
I learned to better market myself and to bring my photography more to the business side while keeping the art of it. I learned to push my limits and that few ideas can turn into great results.
The most important part though tides with Destin Spark’s words, and that is stories. Every single image I believe needs to tell a story, even if it’s a product or landscape. The great skill is not to follow the rules and take a photo, the great skill is to break the rules and tell a story.
This blog post contains the images I chose for the final part of the project, to print an accordion mini book with 9 images that represent the best and the styles used in my 6 fashion style photo-shoots project. Click here to check all the 6 photo-shoots I did and check the end of this blog post to see the mini book I created. The total project took me about 35 hours to complete.
This is the mini photobook that I printed as part of the project
